Flat key is a mechanical part, mainly used to achieve the fixation and transmission between the shaft and the parts on the shaft. It relies on two side surfaces as working surfaces, and transmits torque by squeezing the key and the side of the keyway. Flat keys are divided into three types: ordinary flat keys, thin flat keys and guide flat keys.
Classification and use
1. Ordinary flat key: good centering, high positioning accuracy, easy disassembly and assembly, suitable for high speed, variable load and impact occasions.
2. Thin flat key: used for thin-walled structures and places with small torque transmission.
3. Guide flat key: fixed on the shaft with screws, suitable for occasions where the parts on the shaft do not move much along the shaft.
Structural features
The two sides of the flat key are working surfaces, and there is a gap between the upper surface and the bottom of the hub groove. It has good centering performance and easy assembly and disassembly. Ordinary flat keys and thin flat keys are used for static connection, and guide flat keys are used for dynamic connection.
Application scenarios
Flat keys are widely used in various types of mechanical equipment and are key components to ensure the stable operation of the transmission system. For example, it is used to connect gears and shafts in reducers.
