Introduction to rivet nuts
Rivet nut is a type of nut specifically designed for thin plates or sheet metal, with a circular shape and embossed teeth and guide grooves on one end. Its working principle is to press the preset holes in the sheet metal through embossed teeth. As the diameter of the preset holes is slightly smaller than that of the embossed teeth of the rivet nut, pressure is applied to squeeze the flower teeth of the rivet nut into the plate, causing plastic deformation around the preset holes. The deformed object is squeezed into the guide groove, thus producing a locking effect. There is no unified national standard for this type of nut, which is commonly used in chassis and cabinet, sheet metal industry. According to different usage environments, rivet nuts can be divided into S-type for quick cutting steel rivet nuts, CLS type for stainless steel rivet nuts, SP type for stainless steel rivet nuts, and CLA type for copper and aluminum rivet nuts. The specifications usually range from M2 to M12. The application advantages of rivet nuts include keeping the back of the board completely flush, which makes it particularly useful in applications that require maintaining aesthetics or functionality. In addition, the connection method of the rivet nut is achieved through the rivet process, which is a method of plastic deformation of the body material under external pressure and squeezing it into a specially designed prefabricated groove in the nut structure, thereby achieving a reliable connection between the two parts. Due to the different uses of nuts in each industry, their names may vary slightly. However, whether in the electronics, machinery, or medical device industries, nuts play a crucial role in manufacturing
The main uses of rivet nuts include the following aspects:
1.Thin sheet or sheet metal applications: Rivet nuts are mainly used on thin sheets or sheet metal, with a circular shape and embossed teeth and guide grooves on one end, suitable for fastening various metal sheets and pipes.
2.Electronic mechanical equipment: Rivet bolts are commonly used in electronic mechanical equipment, metal sheet metal industry products, metal stamping, copper aluminum plastic and other materials. They are pressed into the product material matrix through stamping or other methods to achieve a fastening effect.
3.In the fields of automobiles, aviation, etc., rivet nuts are widely used in the assembly of electromechanical and light industrial products such as automobiles, aviation, railways, refrigeration, elevators, switches, instruments, furniture, decoration, etc., solving the problems of easy melting of metal sheets and thin tube welding nuts and easy welding deformation of substrates.
4.Precision electronic and electrical products: Rivet nuts have the characteristics of being small and delicate, widely used in precision electronic and electrical products or precision equipment, with high torque resistance, convenient equipment, and only requiring riveting.
5.Easy installation: The installation method of rivet nuts is simple. Simply insert the nut into the hole of the metal plate and use pressure to achieve the strong embedding function. It is suitable for fastening various thicknesses of plates and pipes (0.5MM-6MM).
In summary, rivet nuts play an important role in industrial production and daily life due to their unique installation method and wide application fields.

Application Technology Guide:
1.The S series rivet nuts are made of easy to cut iron and undergo heat treatment before being treated, while the CLS series rivet nuts are made of easy to use and easy to cut stainless steel without surface treatment.
2.The hardness of low-carbon steel plates must be less than 70RB, and the hardness of stainless steel plates must be less than 80RB.
3.Suitable for various thicknesses of boards, with a minimum thickness of 0.8mm. When using, the tail number Z corresponding to size A must be determined based on the board thickness and nut specifications. Users can select samples and place orders according to the tail number in the table based on the board thickness;
4.According to the aperture size, precise control is required. Processing should be carried out with a tolerance of 0-+0.075mm, preferably punching. The nut should generally be installed from the "disconnected" surface of the plate. The installation process is generally achieved through "riveting" operations and must not be impacted or knocked in.
